Ravi Kiran Yellavajjala, graduate student in CPSSL group finished runner up in the Computational Mechanics poster competition organized as a part of Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) 2014 conference held at McMaster University, Canada. This prize is awarded for his poster titled: “Complex analysis for numerical approximation of tangent moduli”. As a part of his graduate studies, Ravi is working with his advisor Dr. Kapil Khandelwal to develop numerically robust yet computationally efficient mathematical models for simulating the damage in steel structures under extreme earthquakes.
