Ph.D student Gaofeng Jia has won the Young (below 35) Researcher Best Paper Competition in the Third International Conference on Soft Computing Technology in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering for his paper titled “Non-Parametric Stochastic Subset Optimization for System Design Optimization under Uncertainty”, authored by G. Jia and A.A Taflanidis. This marks the second time a member of the HIPAD laboratory receives this award as Professor Taflanidis won it at its inaugural year (2009).
