Offshore structures made their first appearance in 1937. Throughout the past 80 years, oil companies, engineering firms and construction companies have worked together to develop various structures in accommodation of the many locations and water depths where oil and gas can be found and utilized. The offshore structures have only grown larger and more intricate over time. Fuat Sezer, District Manager and President of Kiewit Offshore Services, will describe the different platform types and explain the construction, loadout and installation processes of typical offshore structures oil companies use today.

Fuat Sezer

District Manager and President, Kiewit Offshore Services, Ltd.

Fuat Sezer joined Kiewit in August 1985 as a structural engineer working on Shell’s Bullwinkle project. In 1987, he became Structural Engineering Supervisor, followed by Project Manager in 1993 and Sponsor in 2003. In 2005, he became Area Manager, responsible for Kiewit’s entire oil and gas business unit. He was promoted to the position of District Manager and President of Kiewit Offshore Services in 2008. Fuat graduated from Rice University in 1980 and holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil and Structural Engineering.
