Energy Week 2016: 10 years!

A full slate of energy-related events is being scheduled for the week of October 2. Celebrating its tenth year, Energy Week 2016 will feature academic lectures and interactive events related to energy issues and how Notre Dame is tackling the energy challenge on campus and around the world.

On the Sidelines: "To the Moon and Beyond!"

Professor Clive R. Neal, chair of NASA's Lunar Exploration Analysis Group, will present "To the Moon and Beyond!" It is difficult to imagine spending taxpayer money on human space exploration, let alone establishing a permanent “Moon Village” or having extended stays on Mars, given the harsh economic realities we all face. However, scientific research on samples returned by the Apollo missions from 1969-1972 show that the Moon has abundant resources that can enable human space exploration, create jobs, and drive technology development that will benefit humanity. The Moon holds the key to a sustainable return on taxpayer investment and expanding humanity into the Solar System.
