Hudson Yards is the largest private development in the history of North America and incredible coordination and planning was required in order to pull it off. The overall development includes 12 million square feet of Class A office, residential, hotel, retail, cultural and parking uses, 12 acres of public open space, and a 750-seat public school. Even more impressive is the fact that the project was constructed out of thin air, on a parcel of land that was previously in the Hudson River and currently operates as an active rail yard.
This presentation will include a look inside both the technical and coordination efforts behind the Hudson Yards mega project. Langan Engineering performed environmental, geotechnical, and civil engineering on the projects and also provided survey and laser scanning services.
The presentation will be given from the perspective of the day-to-day point person responsible for a combined multi-disciplinary approach who interacted with the various project stakeholders including owner, lenders, agencies and the extensive design and construction teams tasked with executing this amazing project.
